This would be a really good topic to have on the HTTrack Help site

I don't have time to look into this right now but from memory that connection
back to the live site is caused by javascript in the mirrored pages (which I
think rewrites all the internal links).

It may be a matter of just disabling that javascript in the code - not done
through HTTrack, but a later text-replacement process.
