Your best bet is to use the "Internal Depth" 
configuration setting, and probably set it to 
something like 3 or 4.  This will prevent it from 
going 'infinitely recursive', however expect to still 
see a large number of pages as even with a link level 
of 3 or 4 you'll get a lot of duplicates.

If you just want a single page plus its direct 
(internal) links, use internal link depth (level) 1.
