Okay, I think I'm seeing the pattern here.  Essentially I need to hover over
every hyperlink on the typical page and make sure it's removed from the
search... page modes, links to member info, stickies/announcements, etc. 
Sound about right?
Seems a bit counter-intuitive, though, as I thought the +*/showthread* and
similar options would limit those searches already.
