Subject: SSL and redirection from portal

I am trying to download a website that is a little more complex than some. It
requires a username and password and it is SSL (HTTPS). The problem is it can
ONLY be accessed via a portal. So, if I type in the internet address, even
with the username and password, I still won't be able to access the site.
Normally, i have to log onto the portal with a username and password. Then, I
click a link, which opens a new window and allows me to search for specific
information related to that site. I want to download all the information from
the link and down, NOT from the portal.

Again, the problem is direct access to the link is not an option. The only
way is to sign into the portal and then the link itself. Another complexity
is the link itself redirects to a different address. So, there's a lot of
complexity here just to download the website. Is there a way I can use cookie
information to get around all this nonsense?
