Shutting down is like pressing cancel twice. stops it dead. Links are not
update, mirror is broken.

Cancel/Continue is broken for updates, works fine on the initial download. On
update the cache is lost and all not downloaded/update files will be
redownloaded.

Pause/Resume works but you can not kill the program (shutdown would kill it.)

Just pause/Hibernate/resume. No need for shutdown.
