Many thanks for the quick answer, I followed your instructions on the tutorial
page to the letter, using Firefox I got the exact messages that were
displayed.

I was happy and started another 8+ hours download and when I copy in the
Index.htm file in firefox I start the first page of the board but again I get
the error message that the username and password need to be entered. When I
fill this in I get connected to the real website again.

Is this caused by the last line you wrote?  "don't forget to filter out the
logout...." ?
I don't know how to do it.

I'm really  desperate as this board is going to be shut down by the owner soon
without any good reason and we were a small 80 person group who were on it and
we lose all the information/stories/photo's that we posted on it in the past
6+ years.
