Thanks for replying,
Not feasible to rename each filename and extension individually because not
all files are mp3 and i want to retain original filenames.

Would be fine if i was working with with a few files, but im looking at
renaming and identifying over 12,000+ audio files individually.. cant afford
the time and effort.

I made the switch to "MetaProducts Portable Offline Browser" which seems to do
this by itself wonderfully and doesn't suffer from slow speeds
