| All my efforts to get a copy of a site has failed.
Here is the scenario:
Suppose I am searching for all words that begin with 'ab'. This would be the
URL: <http://www.somesite.com/?word=ab&category=alist&ret=all>
I am doing this in an effort to get a page with many more links to all those
words that contain 'ab'.
But, when I reach that URL, it tells me "active connections not allowed" and
offers that I do it 'their way'.
IOW, a textbox with 'ab' in it, plus a button that says 'search' on it.
And, lo and behold, when I press that button the URL that gets sent is exactly
the same as the one above. [I have used various HTTP sniffers and they all
confirm it.]
I don't quite understand what's happening here.
Same URL, but different results.
I wouldn't mind it so much, but this is screwing up HTTrack: I simply get
practically nothing --only pages that say "active connections not allowed". | |
