Update means that httrack needs to ask the server for new version of each
file. This means a request for reach link, and this can be as long as the
initial download.

"Continue" will only rescan quickly downloaded material to rebuild the graph
of links, and continue if there were missing files.

There is no way to ask the server for update "since last time",
unfortunately...
