Then just use the scan rules (Options/Scan rules): this is 
the most powerful way to control what you want to download, 
and what you don't want to.

Use something like:
-* +www.yoursite.com/thissubfolderonly/*

To ONLY download things in 
www.yoursite.com/thissubfolderonly/

You can add more folders or locations, or links:
-* +www.yoursite.com/thissubfolder/* 
+www.yoursite.com/this/one/also/* 
+www.anothersite.com/images/*.gif
