I'm currently mirroring gutenberg.ca, and the only progress meter is "Links
scanned: 3/295 (+291)", which I know is nowhere close to the potential number
of links on the first page. 

It should instead show something closer to "3/8551", where the latter number
is the number of detected links just in the first page. Yes, that number can
change as more pages are downloaded, but it still gives much better progress
information than what it does right now.
