I haven't looked into it recently.
I heard that a lot of people simply use Pyhton, which they say it's not that
hard even for beginners, or testing/automation tools like Selenium or Headless
Chrome.

Using proper browser engines would be the way to go, indeed, but of course
there should be a simple-enough interface for the non-programmers (and for the
programmers too).

But there actually will always be the need for some technical knowledge to do
these things, in all likelihood, at least for the more advanced cases.
