I used the windows version of HTTrack Website Copier to save webpages.  On
every saved html file there is an additional line added:

<!-- Added by HTTrack --><meta http-equiv="content-type"
content="text/html;charset=UTF-8" /><!-- /Added by HTTrack -->

I wish to avoid adding this line as the charset attribute in this line is
different from the charset attribute in the original html file, causing the
webpage text incorrectly displayed.

Is there any setting in the copier software to stop adding this line?
I have checked the forum.  Other users have asked similar question in 2012 but
there is still no solution.
