Hi,

i had the same problem on Solaris 8 and 9 if an earlier 
version of httrack is installed. After renaming all the 
installed libraries of this earlier version of httrack (on 
my installation in /usr/local/lib) the libraries of the new 
version were taken to link. 

It seems that make/libtool uses the libraries in 
LD_LIBRARY_PATH (or the path found with the command 'crle') 
before using the libraries in the installation-directory.
