Err, the 3.40-A1 is actually nearly identical, except that some features are
now plugged by default (such as delayed check always "on") :p

The only potential difference might be the speed (the engine will no longer
put downloads in background without checking links), but I suspect that this
won't make any difference, as the 25KB/s limit is the only relevant one
nowadays.
