Not sure what odd behaviour you refer to.  All I saw was a French forum.

I presume you were asking about the "we" from this quote from the original
post:

"Using Sitemaps to inform and direct our crawlers, we hope to expand our
coverage of the web and improve the time to inclusion in our index."

That is straight from Google's FAQ

Still, we're not being any help with the original question, answer being
HTTrack doesn't do it and I doubt it ever will.  However we (as in the company
I work for) is looking into Sitemaps too and it may be an idea to have a
script build the initial map from an HTTrack log or something.
