| Hello;
I have used Httrack for a couple of years on my computer.
However, recently, Httrack crashes as soon as it begins to mirror a website.
The error message is:
" problem occurred during the mirroring operation.
Unable to create log file.
during ........ (blah blah blah)
see log file if necessary
click FINISH to quit WinHttrack "
When I click to read the logfile to look for errors, Httrack tells me " No log
file in ... (directory path)"
When I click to view mirrored website, Httrack tells me:"No index.html file in
.... (direcory)"
I am using WinXP-Pro, I am running as the administrator, I have rites to write
in that directory, I have successfully use this version of WinHttrack before
without this error.(v3.33) .
.... I can no longer use Httrack to mirror any website. I always get this same
error message.
.... I tried uninstalling v3.33 via the WinXP console uninstall function, and
then reinstalled it, but that did not help the problem.
....... I tried uninstall of v3.33, and install of v3.32, which worked without
crashing in the past, and that did not help.
....... I tried changing the directory path that it writes to, and that did
not help.
...... I searched this forum board for similar error messages discussed, and
found 9 messages, but they did not help. to wit:
