Hi all,

I don't really understand what people like Maria and some others are claiming
for...

Maria,

The WWW *is not* and *has not to be* a commercial space more than everybody's
right to show himself and what he is doing to the world. The WWW *is* and
*must remain* an open space allowing to share freely as much knowledge as
possible for the human being's happiness.

If you're claiming for commercial reasons, I won't waste a tear on you. If you
have found *useful* to show data on the web, you have to accept that this data
is now available for everyone at any time. If you don't, just remove this data
and claim to yourself about your stupidity. You can also try to bring Google
and Bill Gates before the courts but I won't bet a penny on you.

If you're claiming for your rights as author of some data (but are you sure
that you didn't use *anything* owned by anyone else to create this data ?),
what is the matter about where and how this data is stored ? This data belongs
to you and is available *by your choice* to anyone you've granted the access
to. Any way, you should be happy than someone has found your data so useful or
so lovely that he wants to keep it always at hand ! Nobody is fool enough and
rich enough (except Google and so) to grab all the WWW on his hard disk.

Avoiding mirroring only plays the game of the ISP. Most of us have now an
unlimited ADSL connexion but more people than you think can't do so. Would you
claim against those people and force them into paying for something which
returns no money for *you* ? Or would you claim against all the ISP for the
reason that they allow access to your data 24 hours a day and 365 days a year
? This isn't a logical thought !

The only thing you can be careful about is to avoid re-use of your data
without your permission. If someone duplicate your pictures, or incorporate
your scripts, or something like this in his own web page or in some product,
there, you are within your rights to claim against him. But please, stop
claiming about *mirroring*, this isn't the problem !

I wish you and all a very happy new year, full of marvellous discoveries on
the WWW.
Best regards.
Pulsar
