I would like to request the same option. You are right a local website needs
the index.html file but but a webserver does not and I would like to use this
httrack to backup a website exactly the way it's on the web, with the exact
url's so searchengines don't find different url's for the same pages.

Couldn't this not be an an advanced option ?
