This is a bug on the server side: the server returns "HTML content" mime-type,
instead of "image/gif"

Firefox also display the "image" as an HTML page (GIF89a..)

There is currently no workaround possible on the client side (IE can display
the image, because it has some dynamic content detection workarounds).
