Thanks for the lead. If anyone else has more solid info, I'd be forever
indebtted to you...heck how about a $20 amazon gift card to whomever gets me a
working solution? yeah..i'm THAT desperate right now. 

Eesh, okay. I'm going to take a look at the source. It actually may make a lot
of sense, because I'm looking at the link in the archived portion, and there
is a live link before the file:// portion of the URL, that when eliminated,
will take me to the proper local file.  I'm assuming that I'd have to do a
global search and replace in EVERY html file? Is there an app that can do a
batch search and replace in multiple files at once?
