My ISP would not let me install programs under Linux.

Is there any way to just dump linux binaries in some directory and call
httrack from a perl script, just as httrack.exe under Windows?
I unpacked httrack-3.33.15-FC3.i386.cpio from debian (uname yields i386), but
something is missing... 

The system("usr/bin/httrack --help") gives error 32512 instead of -1
