Subject: Download a forum - some files are "gibersih"

I'm downloading a forum that will be closing soon, that I have spent a lot of
time on with some good friends. So, I downloaded it. When I went back through
it to check everything was fine, about 15%-20% of the ones I checked were just
gibberish. Gibberish as in the whole page is in letter/number that aren't in
the English language (I think you know what I'm talking about, but I don't
know what they're are called). Can anyone help me with this? Most of them are
fine, so I don't think it's a problem downloading from the site itself.

Here's a few things I think might have affected it: There were quite a few
thousand errors when I finished the first time (out of dozens and dozens of
thousands of sites, it wasn't a bad ratio though.) So, I thought I was done so
I deleted the almost 2.0gb hts-log file. When I went back through more
completely to check the topics, some of them were gibberish. I did a "update
download" which went back through, and redownloaded the forum. But, still some
of them are gibberish. I'm not really sure if they're the same ones that were
"gibberish" before since it's a forum, and the topics get moved around.

Would deleting the hts-log file, but keeping everything else in the hts-cache
folder hurt the updating process? Or, is this just a problem that comes from
downloading forums?
