You can look in the log file, as Bill suggested, to find out why they are
being deleted.  BUT, if you simply want to prevent them from being deleted, I
would first suggest you go into the Options (assuming WinHTT) and under the
BUILD tab check the box next to "Do not purge old files". (Option -X0 for cmd
line.)

Use caution though, as this may make your mirror become very large
unneccessarily.  If that happens, you'll need to figure out why the files you
WANT to keep are being purged.
