pausing it for a while (not sure, if that was exactly 1 hour) worked, but
after few minutes, it gets the same - stuck.

What did you mean by this: "Pause the mirror and wait an hour. Set the
connections/sec=1 connections 1 or
2."

Did you mean: 'Flow Control' -> 'Number of connections' -> '1'?
