In the latter subpage is a directory. In the former it could be anything. An
extention is not needed in a url as the webserver redirects to the correct
file.
In addition subpage, subpage/, and subpage/index.html are also different
things and may ALL exist.
HTT only follows the actual urls found in the top page. Only where there is no
filename (subpage or subpage/) given must HTT use a default filename
(index.html)
