It is possible that the engine anticipates a lots of 
things, and therefore the bytes stat might not be 
equal to what is currently being stored.
It is possible that you are using 3.00 (not 3.01) too, 
which had some stat display bugs.

But the display should be able to show sizez>2Gb, as 
everything is now 64-bit compatible -- I'll check 
that, however!
