I've fixed it. 

It seems the Default settings are not optimal. 

I don't know which of the following fixed it but this is what I did. 

Spider Tab 

Spider > no robot txt rules
Check Document Type > Never

Experts Only Tab

Travel > can go up an down
Global Travel > Stay on same domain 

Scan Rules Tab

I checked the first box and the third box, although the list did already show
image types. 


I seems to be working much better now and grabbing more items generally.
