I am trying to download the contents of a book so that I can read it on my
Kindle. The site downloads fine and I can then read it, but it is including a
lot of information I do not want which negatively affects formating. It is
downloading the background color of the site (beige) and also downloading the
book in a way that the margins are very narrow, so that the text displays in a
narrow column on my Kindle rather than taking full advantage of screen space.

What do I need to do to download a website, taking only the text and the
chapter links and stripping out all the other graphical information, so it
will display properly on an ereader?
