I am currently implementing beta keep-alive features in 
httrack ; that will allow to speed up many things, among 
the "testing links" phase, and downloading of small files 
on the same domain.

Contact me if you wish to test this new feature, as I need 
beta testers (the core engine code changes are quite 
important, and I don't want to spread the code yet)
