Subject: Please, I need clarifying the .gif scan rule tip

In the Set options > Scan rules menu, there's a tip:
"To have ALL GIF fles included, use something like +www.someweb.com/*.gif.
(+*.gif / -*.gif will include/exclude ALL GIFs from ALL sites)"

Does this mean that the standard, pre-set tickbox with image file types (the
first one - gif, jpg, jpeg, png, tif) will get the job done and save all .gif
files?
After all, it is said: "+*.gif will include ALL GIFs from ALL sites". But then
again, it's also said" "To have ALL GIF fles included, use something like
+www.someweb.com/*.gif".

The fact that this disclaimer exists has me worried because it implies gif
files are treated somewhat differently. It also would seem odd to me that in
order to get all gifs, you'd have to go out your way and narrow down the
filter to one site, instead of just scouring for all of them indiscriminately,
just like with the other file types.

I hope it made sense. I'm a layman when it comes to things like these. I just
want to save websites which are nostalgic to me. :)

TL;DR - will ticking the first box in the Set options > Scan rules menu
(gif, jpg, jpeg, png, tif) make the program save all gifs from a given website?
(I'm asking because that disclaimer at the bottom has me worried.)
