Probably due to multiple tests for dynamiccally generated 
files? In Set Options / MIME Types, you can set the type of 
dynamic files (php, asp..) to fixed (text/html) types, 
speeding up the prefetching.

BTW, what are the 404 page addresses? Can you give me the 
URL?
