In fact, I did the same before and it worked.
There is also another way(not too simple!) to solve this 
problem.
Edit the html file, find the applet line,locate the .class 
and .jar files in your mirrored site(most probably they 
have been downloaded already, otherwise you can download 
them separately), modify the path the applet line in html 
file.
