1. Try to use the filter:
+*.gif +*.jpg +*.png

2. Setup REASONNABLE bandwidth settings in 'Set 
Options'/'Limits': max rate : 8000 B/s
And in 'Set Options'/'Flow Control' : 2 simultaneous 
connexions

3. Disable robots.txt in 'Set Options'/'Spider'
