Subject: receive-header called multiple times

I notice that the 'receive-header' callback can get called
up to three times for a single URL.  I take it one is the
HEAD call and one is the GET call, but I don't understand
the third one.  And is there any way to tell which are
which, so that I use the right headers for the body?
