Not sure to be honest, but if you are on Win 2000 go to 
Windows Update (Start, Windows Update) - if there are no 
critical updates showing then I think you have the patch 
already.

Don't know, but I would keep the patches on your system.  
Microsoft don't release the updates for fun, they are 
required because of vulnerabilities in the system.
