Because the default limit (Set Options / Limits / Max 
tranfer rate) is set to 25KB, to avoid server overloads 
(you can easily clobber the bandwidth of a server using a 
2MB line).

Don't increase this limit unless you know (or you are 
allowed to) what you are doing.
