| Hi, and thanks for the reply!
Right after playing around with the site in browser (firefox) and with the
httrack, Ive discovered a few things.
From the browser, the main page requires password. There are links off this
main page that have the same www.xxxx.xx as the main page and it is possible
to make bookmarks of these links and directly access these areas after having
cleared cookies - the same password is still required though.
These areas that have the same www.xxxx.xx address as the main page can all be
mirrored by httrack, by just using this address with the login:password@
prefix.
But, there are also pages linked from the main www.xxxx.xx page that do NOT
have the same domain, e.g. they are on www.yyyy.yy. From the browser, these
pages may NOT be accessed directly from a short cut...I get redirected to an
error page (on www.yyyy.yy), which among other things, states that "you can
only get to this page by logging into the members area first and following a
link in there."
Even if I was currently on the main page (and logged in) then clicked a
shortcut to the www.yyyy.yy page, it gives the error page. I have to actually
click the link on the main page to access www.yyyy.yy despite it apparently
having the same url as the shortcut.....this seems bizarre to me!
The only way I managed to mirror a single page from the www.yyyy.yy domain was
by logging onto the site through the browser, and then capturing the URL in
HTTrack by clicking directly on the required link from the main page in the
browser. This doesn't even require the password for HTTrack to mirror, but it
will ONLY mirror the single page, NOT any of the links off of that (which are
all part of the www.yyyy.yy domain)...I have to individually capture each
page.
I'm really at a loss! Hope you can help.
