You're right about it working.  I am also using 3.40.  This time I put three
URLs into the list, one for the main page, and one each for the directory with
Excel files and pdf files.  It worked!  I do not know if adding the extra URLs
helped or a different day helped.  It downloaded nicely this time.  Thank you
for helping me with my problem.
