I've just tried on command line:

httrack -%L links.txt -O ~/websites/Princeton/ --near -* +*.gif +*.jpeg +*.jpg
+*.png +*.js +*.css

and it downloads just the links added to the text file, besides quite a few
stylesheets and images.

Maybe the only difference with Leto's advice is the --near option
