Your advice was correct.

I installed v3.32, and started it, and it began downloading, with no cpu
lock-up.

I guess my WinXP O.S. being service pack 1, and not service pack 2 updated, is
probably the reason that my O.S. does not work with recent versions of
Httrack. ....... If this is so, I never ran across any documentation in the
httrack update notes, or website notes on operating system requirements.]
