I observed that if a site is being copied,, and a file is linked at more than
one pages,,,, but with different URL(s). 

It downloads that same as many times as it is linked with different pages, or
with different URL(s) at one page, it is linked,,,

For help a file,, (.............../test.wmv) 50 MB. Is linked at more than one
pages within the same site,, Httrack downloads it as many times as it is
linked at different locations, 

My point is this, it should check within its software folder, whether the same
is already available or not, it available it msut link it instead of
re-downlaoding.....
