| Copyright law shares some gross principles internationally, but can vary in
details from country to country.
If I was paid to create a website, I suspect that the copyright would belong
to the person who paid me. If I did it as a hobby, I would probably expect to
own the copyright, unless I used elements on my website which were owned by
someone else.
I don't think it matters whether you get the copy of the website directly or
from a third party, though this might not be the case in your country.
I would talk to a copyright lawyer, if I were that concerned.
