The gif/jpg/etc aren't necessary: options -> Links -> Get non-HTML

If your main site isn't www.submit or badongo, then you've also rejected all
html files and you won't get anything.

You don't tell us which site your mirroring so it hard to understand your
problem.  If you want the main site and they reference other sites then you'll
need options -> Limits -> Maximum external depth.
