| Recently I have tried to update a mirror of a website
and found that the mirror basically tried to start
from scratch because the folders on the website had
been restructured even though the contents hadn't
changed.
For example, the original site contents were as
follows:
www.somewebsite.com/oldfolder/xx/yy.jpg
And it changes to :
www.somewebsite.com/newfolder/xx/yy.jpg
As I said, the material has not changed, but the
folder name at the highest level has changed for some
strange reason. What happens is that Httrack
interprets this as all new material and tries to
mirror it (and the old folders become inaccessible).
Since the website is more than 100 MB, it is quite
awkward for it to do this and is a waste of the
bandwidth.
The only reason that I am updating this mirror is to
catch the portions that change from day to day, not to
remirror the entire website because of the folder
restructuring.
Any suggestions anyone?
