Links on downloaded pages will be local files. Links on non-downloaded pages
(incomplete mirrors and external sites) will go to the internet unless you
have options -> Build -> No external pages and No error pages = checked.
Unless you have options -> Links -> Get non-HTML = checked then your slow down
may also be requests for images (including those one pixel web bugs)
Look at the address bar of your browser. URLs in the form
<http://www.site.org/>... are internet pages. URLs in the form
<file:///C:/Documents> and Settings/... are local.
There is also a windows bug that could be slowing you down, if the connection
between windows file explorer and windows internet explorer gets hosed. A
simple reboot fixes that. | |
