I tried this with 3.43-2 and confirmed.  The link on the page is as reported. 
Httrack changed it to index.phpindex.php as listed in the log file:
09:25:46 Error:  "Not Found" (404) at link
wiki.xda-developers.com/index.phpindex.php?pagename=HomePage (from
wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes)
And it changed it in the local top level file as well.

I do not recommend any of the 3.4x versions (except the last) I previously
recommended 3.32 version (available here:
<http://forum.httrack.com/readmsg/17840/17833/index.html> )

I tried 3.32 and that works correctly.
