I tried downloading <http://www.canadiandriver.com>
and <http://www.star1077.co.uk> today but it saved all the pages as .html when I
want them to end in .php, as they already are!

How do I tell HTTrack to recognize php files as .php files, not .html ones?
The above two sites are notoriously tricky; 3.32 had problems downloading
them, and the latest version did.

Please can someone help me?
