I don't think so, the internal filter system should be able 
to handle 500 rules (including rules created "on the fly")

A bug was reported (and fixed) yesterday, which is causing 
crashes in certain big sites - this might be the same bug 
here. But if the crash never occurs at the same point (take 
a look at the number of links, like 143/780 (+2), when the 
crash occurs), it may be another one.

Anyway I will post "soon" a RC4 with various fixes, hope 
it'll fix everything
