Subject: De-duplicating / compressing snapshots?

Hi,

I have a few large website that i'd like to snapshot on a weekly basis.
I would like to be able to choose a date and browse old versions.

I'm using FreeBSD and Linux systems with the httrack command line version.

Does anyone have an elegant solution for de-duplicating the files and
compressing them? The demand for accessing content isn't huge and we can
throw CPU at it but it has to be real-time - not wait 5 minutes for a tgz to
decompress or something after you select the date.

ZFS would be perfect, but unfortunately it's not supported well by my
environment.

Thanks,
M
